Balance In "Being" | Words from Kate

Over the last several months, I written quite a bit here about the ongoing challenges of finding life balances between work, home, school, and "being." In my last newsletter, I shared my most recent effort: to "do" a little less and "be" a little more. This concerted effort has really had an amazing impact on my sense of life balance. I am able to have breathing room, a sense of levity, and space from the weight of overwhelm, fatigue, and disconnection.

Unbelievably, it wasn't until I began experiencing this levity and spaciousness, that I realized that I had been feeling weighted down! I thought I was handling the hustle and bustle of my very packed "to do lists" really well. Sure, maybe sometimes I was a little tired, or a little short in my communication at times, but, overall, I was telling myself, "Yeah! I got this!"

Now that I have taken a step back and truly allowed myself to just "be," I see and feel the difference in all aspects of my life. I feel how much more relaxed the ambience and routine are with in my family life. I am much more focused and attentive to the things I need to remember each day. I am able to spend more time in nature. All of these differences have accumulated into a greater sense of flow and balance and has evoked the continued question in myself, "where else in my life can I shift from "doing" to "being"?"

As we near the Autumnal Equinox, the theme of balance is ever poignant as day and night are equal in length until the Northern Hemisphere dips into the darkest time of the year. It's an excellent time for all of us to explore our own ways finding balance through "being," especially when the Holiday Season coaxes us into hyper-action!

In-Joy!
