Thanksgiving is the best of all the holy-days | words from Kate

Recently I have been overhearing conversations debating whether or not Thanksgiving is really a holiday. There are no presents and no candy. In one conversation I heard someone exclaim, "There's not even any green beer!" and in another an individual grumble, “My time would be better spent on a hike or even at work. It is so awkward sitting around with over-the-hill relatives telling stories from the past.” I also recently heard someone sigh, “We should just bypass the whole holiday!” I take offense to this notion. I think Thanksgiving is the best of all the holy-days. I love that the thankfulness we give to each other at the time of Thanksgiving comes from inside of us; that thankfulness is gratitude for living this life together, appreciation for the challenges and joys we share and lovingly acknowledging the world around us.

Studies show that when we live from a place of gratitude we are healthier, happier and less stressed. I, for one, am very grateful to all of you. I appreciate you letting me share and be in your lives. I appreciate all the love and support you give me and my family.

Thank you for a wonderful year and may you have lots of fun listening to old stories and celebrating the best of all holy-days.

In-Joy!

Kate
